Terms of use
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Alif you agree to these terms and to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If they conflict, Apple's agreement governs the licence of the app, and these terms govern the rest. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country continue to apply.
2. What Alif is
Alif is a reading and reminder app. It shows prayer times, the Qibla direction, nearby mosques, the Qur'an text with translations, and guided daily content. Alif does not give religious rulings (fatwas). For questions of religious practice, ask a qualified scholar.
3. Prayer times and Qibla
Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated from your location and the method you choose. Methods differ, and results can differ from your local mosque or authority. Check them with your local authority when it matters, and note that compass accuracy depends on your device and surroundings.
4. Alif Pro subscription
Prayer times, Qibla, the mosque finder, the Hijri calendar, the Qur'an text and a basic prayer log are free. Alif Pro unlocks Alif Yolu, journeys, the advanced tracker, reading plans and other extras listed on the purchase screen.
- Plans. Alif Pro is offered as a monthly subscription and a yearly subscription. A 7-day free trial is offered on the yearly plan only, where shown. The price and billing period for your storefront are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
- Payment and renewal. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the selected plan.
- Free trial. Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Manage or cancel. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase: App Store subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, which decides refund requests: reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Family Sharing. Where the purchase screen shows Family Sharing for a plan, members of your Apple Family Sharing group can use it.
- Restore. You can restore earlier purchases from the purchase screen or from your profile.
5. Founder (Kurucu) lifetime purchase
The Founder purchase is a one-time payment, limited to the first 1,000 buyers. It includes Alif Yolu and the content programs we add later, for as long as Alif is offered on the App Store. When the limit is reached the purchase is removed from sale. It does not renew.
6. Content and licences
The Qur'an text and translations in Alif are used under the licences and with the credits listed on the sources and licences page. They are shown with their wording unchanged. The Alif name, icon and our own texts belong to us. You may use Alif for personal, non-commercial purposes; please do not copy, resell or scrape the app or its content, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
7. Availability and changes
We may change, update or remove features, and we may update these terms. When we change them, we update the date above. Daily content depends on a network connection; content already on your device remains available offline.
8. Disclaimer and liability
Alif is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for missed prayers or reminders caused by device settings, notification permissions, battery or operating system limits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
